POWER POINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

review sheet. is it ready to go up on wiki?!?!?

<-- here's what I have so far fo the quiz,I didn't include any STSE but feel free to modify by changing, adding or taking out!
Hey Karen, I just reviewed it and tracked the changes. It looks good! My only concern is that it might be too difficult.
Bases don't corrode metals. Yeah I had a hard time what to do write for short answers, any ideas? I added the properties of acids and bases in MC to aid in answering the last question. The answer should be it should be basic because it is corrodes tissues but not metals, and it should be fairly strong as the corrosiveness is related to the strength of pH (right? or no?) Feel free to change any of the questions!

KH:

Hey so I've started a wiki cause I think it'll help to have everything all in one place.

So for 5 Carousel Activities & Demo I've included:
  • the activities we discussed on Tues
  • the 2 demos Milan suggested
  • demo/hook for Conservation of Mass that I just found
So I was just thinking of the distribution of the work and I thought it'd make more sense if between us 6, we divided it such that we all do at least 1 activity (the one we'll lead for the carousel activity) and two of us will do 2 class hook/demo/activities. I call dibs on the marshmallow lab! And I unno I find the pH activity to be pretty straightforward and not very exciting so I kind of feel like not using it as one of our activities.. But if you guys want to, I'm fine with that!
Just a note, if you need any materials for your activity, remember to let Raiza know and specify amount and concentration.
I put Misconceptions and Effective Teaching Strategies on one page, because I find some of the stuff we have already for misconceptions can be used as Effective Teaching Strategies so we can sort that out. I'll go through the Teacher's Resource for OnScience10 textbook. Alessia, perhaps you can go through another Teacher's Resource book, maybe Perspectives 10? It's geared towards Academic students but they cover pretty much the same concepts.

For powerpoint, Amy do you want to meet up on Sunday and work on it? We can figure out the concept map and whatever together. We could probably do the quiz and review also while we're at it lol.

For STSE, I'm thinking we should all get a better idea of Sarnia and the Chemical Village topic before we all meet up on Tues? So if you find anything regarding the issue, post it up on the wiki!

Here's some links to online activities:
